Book Formatting
Book formatting, also called typesetting, turns your finished manuscript into a print-ready book interior. Chapter layouts, typography, margins, running heads, page numbers, and front and back matter, prepared to your printer's exact specifications.
What is included
- Custom interior layout for your trim size.
- Chapter opener design.
- Running heads and page numbers.
- Front matter (title page, copyright, dedication, table of contents) and back matter.
- Print-ready PDF built to KDP or IngramSpark specification.
- Complex interiors: journals, workbooks, planners, and illustrated books.
- A review round for your corrections.
Who it is for
- Independent nonfiction authors.
- Coaches and consultants publishing authority-building books.
- Small publishers who need repeat production they can rely on.
- Authors whose files a platform has flagged or rejected.
What to send
Your manuscript as a Word document (.docx preferred). Your trim size and target platform, if you know them. If you are unsure about either, send what you have and we will advise.
Questions
How long does formatting take?
Every book is different. When you enquire, we review your manuscript and give you a clear timeline with your quote. We never start work without agreeing it with you first.
Which platforms do you format for?
Amazon KDP Print, Kindle, IngramSpark, Lulu, Draft2Digital, Apple Books, and Kobo. Each platform has its own file specification, and we build to the one you are publishing on.
My file was rejected by KDP (or IngramSpark). Can you fix it?
Yes. Send the rejection notice and the file. We diagnose the exact problem and correct it, so you can resubmit with confidence.
Do you also prepare ebooks?
Yes. Our eBook Production service creates clean EPUB and Kindle files, and our Publishing Production service handles print and digital together.
