What does a book formatter actually do?
A formatter (typesetter) turns your finished manuscript into a finished book interior: chapter layouts, typography, margins, running heads, page numbers, and front and back matter, prepared to your printer's specification.
What should I send to get started?
Your manuscript as a Word document (.docx preferred), plus your trim size and target platform if you know them. If you are unsure, send what you have and we will advise.
How long does a project take?
Every book is different. When you enquire, we review your manuscript and give you a clear timeline with your quote. We never start work without agreeing it with you first.
Which publishing platforms do you work with?
Amazon KDP Print, Kindle, IngramSpark, Lulu, Draft2Digital, Apple Books, and Kobo.
My file was rejected by a platform. Can you fix it?
Yes. Send the rejection notice and the file; we diagnose the exact problem and correct it so you can resubmit with confidence.
Do you design book covers?
Yes. Our Book Design service covers both cover design and interior styling.
Who owns the finished files?
You do. Every file we produce is yours outright, forever.
How do we start?
Write to us through the contact form or at support@tintapress.com. We read every enquiry personally and reply with a quote and timeline.
